Introduction

This program was developed specifically for those working in the professional services arena. Areas such as: accounting, business coaching, business consulting, financial services, HR consulting, insurance, legal, mortgage broking, recruitment, training & development, etc. I have spoken at more than 40 conferences over the last three years on this topic for CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Accountants, Recruitment & Consulting Services Association, Australian Association of Massage Therapists, Australian Institute of Management, Rockhampton Regional Development, Chambers of Commerce, AMP Platinum Group, Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers, and the list goes on.

During my many years of consulting and professional speaking, I have been exposed to architects, financial advisers, accountants, lawyers, business coaches, recruitment consultants and other professions; and I found that undervaluing, over-delivering, poor pricing, misguided marketing, and passe prospecting was endemic to most of them.

This intensive program is designed as an inexpensive remedy. It is meant to provoke, challenge and stimulate. Learning how to successfully manage and build a professional services firm takes more than a two-hour lecture or thumbing your way through a dozen articles on the subject. You must understand and define the key attributes and concepts so that you can implement strategies and techniques to market your services, interact positively with clients, maximize your fees, etc.

I am regularly interviewed on radio about my perspectives and approaches to establishing a good professional services firm and techniques for successful business management. My intent is to help you fully understand the underpinnings of successful management, leadership and overall business wisdom.

Components of the Workshop

  • Two days of intensive interaction with me and a very small group of colleagues. There will be over 20 hours of work, discussion, learning, and fun. We will enjoy some social activities, some meals, and a large amount of pragmatic work on individual issues.
  • The Professional Services College Manual of more than 200 pages, containing templates, forms, guides, aids, articles and slides used and discussed in the program.
  • Seven CDs from the Series One Teleconferences, covering aspects of networking, sales, fees, time management and more.
  • Individualized pre-college work to maximize your value.
  • Lifetime admission to the Society for Executive Wisdom, an international gathering place of professionals and entrepreneurs who discuss issues ranging from marketing to fees, and life balance to managing staff.
  • And the component that only I can provide: Inclusion in the Mentor Program for six months. Further details are available from the website, and there are valuable options if you are currently a member of the Private Clients Mentor Program.

This is a challenging experience for participants, combining intensive workshop instruction and practice, with comprehensive support materials in both print and audio formats, supported by six months of mentoring.
